Discover Copenhagen bike

Discover Copenhagen bike

After the interview of Roskilde, it is in the centre of Copenhagen for the second interview. This time we’re a little late, so we try to park as close to the appointment to then rent a bike to move around and be on time. What we had not imagined that in Copenhagen, it is really very hard to drive a car because everything is studying for bicycles and pedestrians. They have priority over cars. We find ourselves so fast in streets to its unique against feel then pedestrians who walk in front of our car we cannot exceed the 3 km/h. Fortunately there is a underground parking to Park quickly. Phew we’re on time! Finally almost because Nicolas to urge and share in the search of the bathroom leaving me in the middle of the underground parking. Then I go looking for her, but once out outside, sliding doors are closing in on me and could not reopen without the parking ticket. I find myself so in front of the windows to wait Nicolas or someone that would trigger the door but nobody comes out or go home. It is also me who our two phones, I have no way to reach him. Super it remains for me to wait for him to hope to take the same exit as me. Ten minutes later again happy Nicolas. Go hop you do not lose a second and go walk the streets of Copenhagen to find our date. It is in its moments the is said to be «lively google maps»

The second interview takes place perfectly. We learn as always lots of things like the fact that wind turbines spin automatically to guide their blades in the direction of the wind then or that one little combine the energy of the waves and the wind turbines offshore for energy production continues without having to go through the storage.

After the interviews we have free time to visit the city. We rent so two bicycles, and we leave a little to blindly explore the city.

We with our bikes

We passed most of the major monuments of the city. We first passed the Tivoli Gardens, an amusement park set up in 1843 years outdoors in the city, then we pass the Denmark’s national museum, the castle of Christiansborg, the Royal Library gardens (which are also a huge Pokemon arena).

Also, we went visiting district Christiania. This well known district, belongs to an autonomous community within which the “pot” is legal and is sold on stalls wooden. Photos are not allowed, and most of the drug dealers are hidden. It’s really impressive and weird. The atmosphere is however enough love with tags colored on the walls and singers at all street corners. It’s a whole different atmosphere than that of Copenhagen but really go just to see.

Then we also drive to the Churchilparken to see the Little Mermaid. We’re quite disappointed, because she is really tiny.

Then we make a break ice in trendy Nyhavn Wharf.

After having cycled 4 hours it makes our bikes and we leave town closer to Park offshore wind about which we have had the second date, to photograph because unfortunately one Guest Star was invited to visit by boat but as we leave tomorrow we cannot enjoy this guided tour.

Where to park in Copenhagen?

There are several Q-Park in Copenhagen are still relatively expensive. We personally parked at the Q – Park Nørreport which is located in central Copenhagen and which costs DKK 30 an hour.

Where to rent a bike in Copenhagen?

Do not rely on the guide book which offers only a few owner of bike then as there are everywhere in the city. You then compare prices but overall a bicycle can be rented between 70 and 100 DKK day. It is also possible to rent bikes at the time but this is less interesting if you consider staying more than half a day.

Where to eat ice cream in Copenhagen?

The Nyhavn Quay is full of bars, restaurants, glaciers and others. It is the place preferred by tourists to make a pose.

We’re back to the Denmark because we have two appointments scheduled in Copenhagen.

Having borrowed the bridge that connects Malmö at the Danish Sealand we ride north of Copenhagen to see the beaches on this side of the Baltic Sea. We therefore go to Hornbæk on the ‘Danish Riviera’ to see its beautiful white sand beaches.

For two days we still enjoying seafood to make large parts of frisbee and NAPs. The sea is still warm and the Sun is. At night, we sleep in the parking lot to the beach and we are witnessing a spectacular red sunset. After moonrise in Sweden. It’s magic!

After a moment of relaxation in Hornbæk, we need to go to Roskilde to the first interview because we have an appointment with an engineer of the Danish Technical University (DTU), who should talk US about wind energy at the Denmark. It is very interesting, and explains that he has invested a lot to improve communication about renewable energy. In his office, a giant wind turbine in lego draws our attention with Nicolas and amuses us because in our view the two prides of the Denmark are gathered here: wind turbines and the Lego brand.

Tour of Malmö city of the future

Tour of Malmö city of the future

Before leaving the Sweden we stop in Malmö and we first visit the Västra Hammen district which is the eco-district of the city.

We’re going at the foot of the Turning Torso, which is the iconic Tower of the city. This construction dates from 2005 and is 190 metres high. It was made by the architect Santiago Calatrava Valls. It is a stack of 9 cubes that fit by turning so that its top is shifted 90 degrees to its base. Very impressive.

We also carry eco micro pavement at the entrance of the eco-neighbourhood just behind the tower. It’s very fun. Initially we’re a little embarrassed being quite cold refusal then then an old man agrees to play the game who rebouste our confidence to ask others to give a few minutes. Finally we have various people who responded to our questions: women and men: a pension, a teacher, an architect, a MOM and an architecture student and a lady who rent houses. In total 6 people we answered our questions in an hour which is a very good result for a first time.

We continue our tour of the city which is very surprising. It is very airy with buildings of small size but also because there are channels everywhere. The beach is at the foot of the city and there are areas of swimming with large lawns for sunbathing. For a Sunday, there are relatively few people in the city and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Before taking the bridge-tunnel of the Øresund to the Denmark we’ll get lost in residential areas to go take a picture of the off-shore wind turbines. We put our car in a street and take a path in the swamps which leads us to an Observatory. The view is sublime, we see Copenhagen bridge, wind turbines, the sailboats on the sea, the birds come to rest in swamps and the cities of Copenhagen and Malmö facing.

We also conducted an interview to Dalby in Goran home who have welcomed us with his wife in their beautiful home. Their garden is in bloom and the birds are singing, it’s a great setting for the interview! At the time of leaving, they offer us the philosophical book: “Ten reflections about time”, written and signed by his wife Bodil, who is a reflection on the passing of time. This drunk was a best seller in Europe a decade ago. We’re very touched.

Distance paragliding flight

Distance paragliding flight

Hi friends! (english below)

Today: presentation of the flight of distance paragliding with magnificent landscapes flown through only two beautiful flights in paragliding through 4 ranges of the Alps!

We wanted to share these pictures with you also showing you how it performs completely non-polluting aerial images that we will incorporate in future in the Air to land interviews.

It is particularly these incredible landscapes that reinforce our motivation for investment us in the fight against climate change by trying to maximally preserve the incredible richness of our planet.

Feel free to share the video if it pleases you and the project Facebook page! 🙂 www.facebook.com/enlairpourlaterre

Paragliding is a solar (Yes!) vehicle, which uses thermal (updrafts of warm air), to gain altitude and then hover up to… other thermal to move of course!

These thermal are created thanks to the Sun which warms the ground and air at the top, and as warm air is lighter than cold air, it will mount in altitude and create this famous current ascendant or thermal!

That is why we see often gliders or sailplanes turn in the sky to stay in this column of warm air that rises to gain altitude.

It is even more true in this time of spring, where there is a large difference in temperature between the ground and air aloft which allows the best drivers to achieve flights up to over 400 km of distance only thanks to the Sun!

A beautiful film about the flight of distance: ‘Free air’ directed by two buddies Antoine Boisselier and Nicolas Hairon with Guillaume Chatain this super good this activity with there to the breathtaking scenery!

New interviews of scientists and specialists arrive soon (just the time to mount) 🙂

In the meantime feel free to join us on the adventure site: www.enlairpourlaterre.fr

Soon for new interviews in the Air to the Earth!

Hi friends!

Today: the presentation of Paragliding Distance Flight with beautiful landscapes flown through only two superb paragliding flights through 4 massifs of the Alps!

We wanted to share this video with you as showing you how we perform our aerial images in a totally non-polluting way that will be incorporate in the future interviews of the Fly for the Earth Project.

It is especially these incredible landscapes that strengthen our motivation to invest our energy in the fight against climate change by trying to protect our Earth.

Feel free to share the video if you like it! 🙂

Paragliding is a solar-powered vehicle (yes!), Which uses thermal (current of warm air upward) to gain altitude and then glide to… other thermal to move off race!

Thesis heat are created by the sun, warming the soil and the air above, as hot air is lighter than cold air, it will go up in altitude and create that famous current of warm air upward thermal gold!

That is why we often see paragliders gliders turn gold in the sky to stay in this column of warm air which is rising to gain altitude.

This is even more true in this time of spring, when there is a large temperature difference between air on the ground and air in the altitude which allows the best pilots make flights up to 400 km distance only with solar energy!

A beautiful film about the distance flight: ‘Free air’ directed by two friends Antoine Boissellier and Nicolas Haidar with Guillaume Brown present this great activity and adventure again with breathtaking scenery!

New interviews with scientists and specialists are coming soon (just need to find enough time to make the video :))

In the meantime feel free to join the adventure on our website: www.enlairpourlaterre.fr

or sharing the Facebook page of the project www.facebook.com/enlairpourlaterre

See you soon for new interviews of the Fly for the Earth Project! 😀
